Say something...

Say something...

I can't count how many times I really had something to say to someone, in a meeting, but ruled it off. I'm always like "Someone will soon notice and point it out."

Then one day, "Why don't you ever say something, I have never heard your voice." The exact words someone said to me in a meeting.

After hearing someone say those words to me, I decided to learn how to write so I can share my thoughts. But, me being me, I prefer to pen my thought in my book for myself than publish it. Funny enough, I remember telling myself earlier this year, "Ngozi Onwuka, you will surely tell your story on a stage one day," words I keep remembering and forgetting.

Once again, today, I'm reminded by Susan Cain in one of her TED talks ("The Power of Introverts"). "But introverts, you being you, you probably have the impulse to guide very carefully what's inside your own suitcase. And that's okay. But occasionally, just occasionally, I hope you will open up your suitcases for other people to see because the world needs you and it needs the things you carry. So I wish you the best of all possible journeys and the courage to speak softly."

This, is a cheer to my journey as a writer, to my fellow introverts who have great ideas but struggle to share them, I hope to see you around more often. I will leave you with a quote by someone, "You can only get better at writing by writing"
